Calibration of flow measurement testing equipment (according to ISO 17025) is a process of determining the relationship between the output of a measuring instrument and the value of a quantity being measured. The equipment is compared to a known standard and any deviations from the standard are recorded and corrected. In the case of ventilator testing, this would involve calibrating the equipment used to measure the performance of the ventilator, such as flow meters, pressure transducers, and oxygen sensors.
