FlowLab

With the EasyCal calibration service, IMT Analytics offers a simple and quick way to annually calibrate your FlowAnalyser / FlowAnalyser PRO as well as the mobile test devices CITREX H3 / CITREX H4 and CITREX H5.

With the anaesthesia gas analyser extension MultiGasAnalyser OR-703 you can significantly expand the performance spectrum of the test instruments CITREX H5, FlowAnalyser PRO, FlowAnalyser PF-300, PF-301 and PF-302. It allows you to measure and evaluate CO₂, N₂O, halothane, enflurane, isoflurane, sevoflurane and desflurane. You can view, save and evaluate all parameters directly with the FlowAnalyser and the PC tool FlowLab. It is possible to use a single MultiGasAnalyser OR-703 on several FlowAnalysers.

Yes. The combination of an IMT Analytics test lung with the gas flow meter FlowAnalyser is a cost-effective and practical alternative to high-end test lungs. With this link it is possible to adjust not only different parameter, there is also a precise measurement of various values available.

Our Flow Analysers allow you to check and calibrate any type of medical device that generates pressure or flow. The gauges can measure bidirectional flows, pressures, temperatures, humidity and oxygen concentrations.

All gas flow meters from IMT Analytics are designed for maximum precision and reliability. However, the FlowAnalyser PF-300 has the highest accuracy, which is ± 1.75 percent. Because of its high precision, the FlowAnalyser PF-300 is considered the industry standard in some countries in Asia and Central Europe.

IMT Analytics advises users to calibrate their medical gauges once a year. This allows us to guarantee you measurements with the highest precision. With our calibration service EasyCal you can do this with little effort – worldwide. Among other things, this service includes a complete device check, the maintenance of the device and an update to the latest firmware and software.

With the CITREX H5, you can receive updates via Wi-Fi directly on your device or download them from the IMT Analytics website. The Updates for FlowAnalyser PRO, FlowAnalyser, CITREX H5, CITREX H4, CITREX H3 can be also be downloaded to our Website. Otherwise can be software updated during the annual calibration.

The additionally available sensors – the MultiGasAnalyser OR-703 for the FlowAnalyser/FlowAnalyser PRO and the oxygen sensor for the measuring devices CITREX H3, CITREX H4 and CITREX H5 or the oxygen sensor for the FlowAnalyser – can be replaced at any time. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the gauges, users must not replace other sensors themselves. Should this be necessary, IMT Analytics will carry out the change during the annual calibration and maintenance.

Our FlowLab software can be used across our entire range of gas flow and pressure meters – except with the CITREX H3 – while Webserver monitoring is only available for the two gas flow and pressure meters CITREX H4 and CITREX H5. FlowLab offers some additional features compared to the Webserver: This includes trending up to 100 hours, as well as the option to save and print measurements as reports. The connection to the PC takes place via USB interface.

Up to 8 predefined gas types or mixtures such as air, air / O₂, O₂, N₂O / O₂, N₂O, CO₂, Heliox, and N₂. In addition, the FlowLab software tool can be used to create custom gas mixtures for the measurement. Furthermore, the flow and pressure meter FlowAnalyser, FlowAnalyser PRO can differentiate between the following 17 gas standards: ATP, ATPD, ATPS, AP21, STP, STPH, BTPS, BTPS-A, BTPD, BTPD-A, 0/1013, 20/981, 15/1013, 25/991, 20/1013, NTPD, NTPS. The high number of gas standards and types of gas allows a very wide range of applications in medical devices and industry.

A plateau is detected if the flow drops below a threshold value for at least 5ms and the flow is stable.

For the adult and pediatric respiratory modes, the threshold is set to 3L/min and 1L/min respectively. For the automatic respiratory mode, the threshold is automatically set based on the measured tidal volume. The flow is considered stable if it does not change quickly. This means that the flow must not change more than 0.4L/min during the plateau.

Some medical ventilators may induce oscillations when a plateau is initiated. Fast oscillations that are decaying quickly, are registered as the start of the plateau.

Furthermore, a plateau has a minimum duration of 80ms. If the detected plateau is shorter, no plateau correlated values are displayed.

Note that the plateau detection is not active for the Respiratory Mode ‘High Frequency’.

To measure the static compliance Cstat, you must ensure that your gas flow analyzer detects a plateau pressure after an insufflation (see breathing parameter Pplateau). Cstat is then calculated as follows:

Cstat = Vti / (Pplateau - PEEP)

With these easy steps, learn how to update Flow Analyser PRO

With the FlowAnalyser PRO two new settings regarding the pressure were introduced.

The first setting is called Ventilation parameter pressure source. The second setting is called Dynamic pressure compensation. They are both available via the main menu -> settings -> measurement.

Ventilation parameter pressure source

With this setting, the reference pressure for the respiratory parameters can be selected. Three options are available: Pressure in Flow (default), Pressure Difference High and Pressure Difference Low.

As an example, by selecting Pressure Difference High and connecting the corresponding positive differential pressure port to the inside of a test lung, the peak pressure PPeak or other ventilation parameters could be determined inside the test lung. Furthermore, the gas standard and the trigger use the selected pressure as reference.

Dynamic Pressure Compensation

The pressure sensor Pchannel inside the flow channel of the FlowAnalyser PRO is located in front of the mesh. The mesh is used to generate a pressure drop from which the flow can be calculated. When the Dynamic Pressure Compensation setting is enabled, a virtual pressure is calculated, to be found downstream in the device (hence the measurement is independent of the orientation of the device.). This replicates the behavior of the FlowAnalyser. When the Dynamic Pressure Compensation setting is disabled, the displayed pressure value is the value which is measured by the pressure sensor in the flow channel.

The Dynamic Pressure Compensation setting affects the displayed PChannel value. Since the pressure trigger threshold is set based on the displayed PChannel value, the trigger also uses the compensated value, if the setting is active. No Respiratory parameters or gas standards are affected by this setting.

The Dynamic Pressure Compensation setting for the pressure trigger threshold is only considered if the pressure source is set to Pressure in Flow. It has no effect on pressure measurement via one of the Pressure Difference sensors.

For CITREX H3, the wired Embedded Webserver Configuration is available for configuring the user interface of the device. Connect the CITREX H3 via ethernet cable to a PC and enter the IP address generated by the CITREX H3 device in a web browser.

For CITREX H4, the wired Embedded Webserver Configuration & Monitoring is available for configuring the user interface and for monitoring of real-time charts and parameters of the device. Connect the CITREX H4 via ethernet cable to a PC and enter the IP address generated by the CITREX H4 in a web browser.

For CITREX H5, the wired Embedded Webserver Monitoring is available for monitoring of real-time curves and parameters of the device. Connect the CITREX H5 via ethernet cable to a PC and enter the IP address generated by the CITREX H5 in a web browser. There is a second Embedded Webserver available in the CITREX H5 that connects via WLAN to a web browser. This Embedded Webserver of CITREX H5 provides the following features:

Monitoring the measured values of the CITREX H5 even over long distances
Monitoring and resetting of statistical values
Export of measured values as a CSV file (data snapshot)
Display and download of saved test reports (in PDF and CSV format) from the CITREX H5.

How to connect to the CITREX H5 embedded web server via Wi-Fi:

Open the settings menu, select Wi-Fi and make sure Wi-Fi is activated. Choose your preferred Wi-Fi network and select Connect (if your network is secured with a password, a pop-up window will appear for you to enter it). The CITREX H5 automatically recognizes a free IP address in the WLAN via DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol).
Start a web browser and enter the recognized IP address. The web browser automatically connects to the embedded web server of the CITREX H5.

With the EasyCal calibration service, IMT Analytics provides an easy and fast way to calibrate your FlowAnalyser / FlowAnalyser PRO every year, as well as the mobile testing devices CITREX H3 / CITREX H4 and CITREX H5.

Please proceed as follows:

Call up the menu and select «HW Activation».
Select USB Port.

You will now see on the display whether the USB interface is enabled - "on" or "off". If you want to unlock your USB interface, you can enter an unlock code here. Please contact sales@imtanalytics.com to purchase an unlock code and thereby send the serial number of your FlowAnalyser.

Select the menu item «System Info». There you will find the details of the hardware and software versions in use.

The FlowLab software is available for our ventilator testers CITREX H4 and CITREX H5.

To use the FlowLab software, the FlowLab software option has to be be enabled on your CITREX.

The FlowLab software option is only available for CITREX with hardware version 3 or higher. In addition, software version 3.5.0 or later has to be be installed on your CITREX.

The CITREX H3 does not have a FlowLab software option.

For the CITREX H5 and CITREX H4 that was purchased as a test set, the FlowLab software option is automatically enabled.

For other CITREX H4 devices, the FlowLab software option is available only on hardware version 3 and higher. In addition, software version 3.5.0 or later must be installed on your CITREX. To check that the FlowLab software option is enabled on your CITREX H4, as described below, software version 3.3.0 or later must be installed on your CITREX.

Please check as follows:

Connect your CITREX H4 to a network or directly to your computer via the Ethernet interface.
Connect to the web server of your CITREX via an internet browser.
In the «Device» menu, select «Software Options».
On the page that appears, you can see if the FlowLab option is unlocked. This is indicated by «activated». If the field is empty, you can enter an unlock code. Please contact sales@imtanalytics.com to purchase an unlock code and thereby send the serial number of your CITREX H4.

The CITREX measuring instruments are designed for mobile use and easy operation. CITREX enables the verification and calibration of a large number of medical devices. Examples of such gas flow or pressure generating devices are: Insufflators for endoscopy, anesthesia devices, ventilators, oxygen mixers, pressure gauges and oxygen concentrators. All important ventilation parameters as well as raw values of pressure, flow and oxygen can be displayed in numerical form, and with the CITREX H4 and CITREX H5 also in graphical form.

With CITREX Profiles for CITREX H4 and CITREX H5, you create your personal setup profiles for each type of ventilator and application. You'll always have the right settings for your measurements and calibrations, and you'll be working with the same standards across your company, transferred with just a few clicks from one CITREX ventilator tester to another. CITREX Profiles store which gas types, gas standards, measuring units, parameters and views are used.

Turn on the CITREX H3 or CITREX H4 measuring device and press the X-button. On the CITREX H5 you have to select «About» on the start screen. Afterwards, you will see which version of the hardware or software is used in your CITREX.

Yes. Thanks to the powerful processor of the gas flow meter CITREX H5 it is able to simplify your work with apps. With the CITREX H5, you can receive updates via Wi-Fi directly on your device or download them from the IMT Analytics website; otherwise, the software can be updated during the annual calibration.

Moreover, all CITREX biomedical testing devices can distinguish the following 9 gas standards: ATP, ATPD, ATPS, AP21, STP, STPH, BTPS, BTPS-A und BTPD.

Additional gas types and gas standards are available for the biomedical testing devices CITREX H4 and CITREX H5: These are the two gas types Heliox (21% O₂) and N₂as well as the 8 gas standards 0/1013, NTPD, NTPS, BTPD-A, 20/981, 15/1013, 25/991 und 20/1013.

The high number of gas standards and gas types allows a very wide range of applications in medical devices.

The apps for the gas flow meter CITREX H5 can be downloaded in the form of an update. This works either directly via Wi-Fi on your device or you connect your CITREX H5 via USB cable to a computer and download the update here.

We want to make your work easier with the apps we offer. Wherever possible, apps of the gas flow meter CITREX H5 should automate work steps such as the creation of a test report or the evaluation of measurements, so that you can save work steps and reduce sources of error.

Yes. Our test lungs are an ideal tool to simulate different patient conditions and to test ventilators accordingly in different conditions. IMT Analytics’ test lungs offer an ideal complement to the CITREX H4 and CITREX H5 ventilator testers.

The Dropbox feature is no longer available and is replaced by an Embedded Webserver to view and download Test Reports

With the Embedded Webserver, you can monitor readings from the CITREX H5 in a web browser. This feature enables seamless integration of the CITREX H5 into a WLAN network.

The embedded web server in CITREX H5 provides the following features:

Monitoring of measured values from the CITREX H5, even over long distances
Monitoring and resetting of statistical values
Export of measured values as a CSV file (data snapshot)
Display and download of saved test reports (in PDF and CSV formats) from the CITREX H5.

How do I connect to the Embedded Webserver of my CITREX H5 via WLAN?

How to connect a CITREX device to a LAN network and how configure the Microsoft Edge Browser:

Open Microsoft Edge

Click on the three dots in the top right corner to open the settings menu.
Select Settings from the menu.
Click on System and performance in the left-hand menu.
Toggle on the option: Use hardware acceleration when available.
Click on Default Browser in the left-hand menu.
Under Internet Explorer compatibility, set Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode (IE mode) to Allow.
Click Add in Internet Explorer mode pages and add http://CITREX Ethernet IP, such as http://192.168.5.220 and click Add.
Close and reopen Microsoft Edge
